| Q: Do you have a square foot price? |
| A: We build custom homes only. We cannot give a square foot price because there are many factors that make up pricing in a custom home such as: interior walls, arches, stairs, ect. Every custom home is different, and therefore so is the pricing. |
| Q: How do you allow for shrinkage? |
| A: All window and door openings are cut to allow a 6% settling space, and any vertical posts are installed with settling jacks. |
| Q: What is included in your log home package? |
| A: A typical Handcrafted log package includes the following: *Please note delivery of logs to your building site and crane rental are not included. |
| Q: What is the moisture content of the logs? |
| A: All of our wood is winter cut and air dried to a moisture content of between 15% and 20%. |
| Q: What is the R factor of a log wall? |
| A: Logs are excellent insulators, because they breathe they keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Our logs are an average of 12 to 14" diameter with an R Value of about 16%. |
| Q: What other services do you offer? |
| A: We build mostly log homes, but also offer post and beam, and timber/fame construction. We also offer design services if needed. |
| Q: What wood types and notch styles do you offer? |
| A: We build with Douglas Fir and western red cedar, and offer saddle, diamond, and round notch styles. |
| Q: Where do I start in the planning process? |
| A: After you have purchased your property is the time to start looking at designs. Once you have decided on a plan, we can give you an accurate quote. If you decide to go ahead from here it is important to secure your financing and then we can send out a contract. We are always happy to help along the way.
